Sydney City Cranes & Rigging was founded by Denis Paterson, who has worked with many of the world's most recognised construction companies, and has more then 30 years of experience with rigging and crane work. Having been involved with many high profile and large scale construction projects, Denis now provides consultation services, offering expert advice on best-practice solutions and safety in the work place (OHS).

In 1991, Denis was awarded a commendation by the Governor-General of Australia for brave conduct. Following the collapse of a wall at a building site in Hunter Street, Sydney, he risked his life to bring the situation under control. Denis has also recently been awarded for 25 years of service with Surf Life Saving Australia, and is a professional, 4th Dan, Tae Kwon-Do instructor.
